Questions & answers

So what exactly is Neurofeedback?

Think of your brain like a giant, busy control center. Sometimes, that control center gets a little messy—maybe it's too hyper, or maybe it’s feeling a bit sleepy when it’s supposed to be working.

Neurofeedback (NF) is like giving your brain a mirror so it can see what it’s doing and learn how to fix itself.

In a nutshell...

Imagine you’re sitting in a chair playing a video game, but you aren't using a controller. Instead, you have tiny, painless sensors (like little stickers) on your head that listen to your brain waves.

  1. The Listeners: The sensors tell a computer how fast or slow your brain is working.

  2. The Game: If your brain stays calm and focused, the game moves forward! Maybe a car drives fast or a movie stays bright.

  3. The Glitch: If your brain gets distracted or "noisier," the game might slow down, or the screen might get dark.

  4. The Fix: Your brain hates it when the game stops. So, it naturally figures out how to get back into that "calm and focused" zone to make the game start again

Why do people do it?

Just like practicing a sport makes your muscles stronger, neurofeedback is exercise for your brain. People use it to help with:

  • Staying focused
  • Getting better sleep
  • Healing faster
  • Performing better
  • Feeling calmer

The best part

You don't have to "think" really hard to make it work.

Your brain is incredibly smart — once it sees the "mirror" on the screen, it starts teaching itself how to be the best version of you.

General understanding

Is NF a form of therapy?

Neurofeedback is not a therapeutic or medical treatment and as such does not diagnose or treat conditions.

It’s a brain training system designed to support overall well-being.

How does it work?

We use a non-invasive set of sensors that feed neural activity into software that helps the brain recognize and adjust its own patterns, supporting greater flexibility and resilience.

How is yours different?

We use a dynamic system that does not require a diagnosis or targeted practice on the part of the client.

It works with the brain as a whole rather than focusing on specific symptoms or regions.

Safety & comfort

Is it safe?

YES! Neurofeedback is non-invasive, drug-free, and used worldwide by people of all ages and stages of life.

If you have specific medical concerns, speak to a medical professional or reach out and we can discuss if Neurofeedback is right for you..

Are there side-effects?

Most people experience little to no discomfort. Some notice temporary changes such as fatigue, vivid dreams, or emotional release as the brain adapts.

Are there side-effects?

Neurofeedback is based on principles of neuroplasticity and nonlinear dynamics, with decades of development and use worldwide.

The experience

What happens during a Neurofeedback session?

Sensors are placed on your scalp and ears to monitor brain activity. You relax and listen to music or watch a movie while the system provides real-time feedback.

Do I have to "do" anything during the session?

No effort or concentration is required. Your brain does the work automatically.

How long is a typical Neurofeedback session?

A typical NF session lasts 45 minutes, including setup and wrap-up time.

Results & expectations

What can it help with?

Clients often report improvements in areas such as stress resilience, sleep quality, chronic pain, focus, emotional balance, organisation, memory, and overall mental clarity.

Results vary by individual.

How many NF sessions will I need?

Some people notice changes within a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing sessions.

Neurofeedback works cumulatively.

How frequently should I do my sessions?

There are a few ways to do this, some clients start with at least 2-3 sessions per week, then adjust based on goals and response.Others frontload with daily sessions and taper from there.

Can I combine NF with other treatments?

Yes. Neurofeedback is commonly used alongside therapy, coaching, meditation, bodywork, or medical care.

How will I know when it's working?

Changes are often noticed in daily life — better sleep, decreases in chronic pain and inflammation, improved mood, increased focus, or feeling more “balanced.”
